Last week our attention was focused on some of the opportunities for growth, nurture, and service that exist under the umbrella of the church during the summer months. This week the dates for those activities are known, and we want to give those to you so that your plans can be made to participate in these activities.

Camp dates are set for Junior Camp ( children entering the 4th, 5th, and 6th grades ). Those dates are May 31st through June 3rd. The camp will be at Camp Maranatha on the banks of Lake Guntersville.

The camp dates for Junior High Camp ( youth entering the 7th, 8th, and 9th grades ) are July 5th through July 9th. That camp, too, will be held at Camp Maranatha.

The Cumberland Presbyterian Youth Conference, better known simply as CPYC, is scheduled for July 10th thought the 15th. CPYC is open to all youth who have completed their 9th, 10th, 11th, or 12th grade years in school. CPYC is held at the NaCoMe Conference Center in Pleasantvlle, TN.

One other opportunity to highlight is the Robert Donnell Presbytery Mission Trip. The dates for the mission trip are June 11th through June 18th. Our mission trip will take us to Florida where we will be providing leadership for the children of the Beth - El Mission during a week of bible school as well as doing outside work on the buildings and grounds of the mission. The mission trip is open to all middle school and high school youth.

The church will be providing some financial assistance to the children and youth who participate in these activities. However, if you would like to contribute financially to these programs of nurture, growth, and service your support will be appreciated. You can contact Margaret Russo or Pastor Mark to give your support.

More importantly, you can pledge to be a prayerful supporter for these activities and the people who attend and lead them. Prayer is something everyone can offer and a daily activity in which all who follow Jesus should be involved. As the children, youth, and adult leaders of this church engage in ministry and nurture from Tennessee to Alabama to Florida and places in between this summer your commitment to dedicated prayers on their behalf is appreciated. God is at work, and God's work is our work, too.

Grace and peace
